The MWA was designed to as a large-N small-d prototype telescope optimised to detect the Epoch of Re-ionisation. This talk will present the first published results from the MWA EoR collaboration, describing the limits obtained from a few hours of data on the 32-tile prototype. A description of the potential of the MWA array to measure the EoR signal will be presented, with a brief discussion of both new techniques already developed, and the challenges yet to be understood.
