Magnetohydrodynamic waves come in three flavours: fast, slow, and Alfvén. Most astronomers know this. But these types are not set in stone. Waves can change their type as they pass through various regions. In this presentation, I review conversion between fast and slow as occurs in stellar active regions, and fast to Alfvén as occurs in stellar atmospheres. Implications are discussed.
