Sarah L Martell
Sarah Martell is an ARC DECRA fellow in the School of Physics at the University of New South Wales. Her research interests center around old stars in the Milky Way and its satellites. Her focus recently has been on stellar abundance complexity in globular clusters in the Milky Way and the Large Magellanic Cloud, and using that characteristic abundance behaviour for chemical tagging. As the Project Manager for Observations in the GALAH (Galactic Archaeology with HERMES) survey, she is involved in many areas of the project, from target selection and instrument testing through observations to data reduction and distribution. Dr. Martell received her PhD from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2008, and spent time as a postdoctoral researcher at the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut in Heidelberg, Germany and as a Research Fellow at the Australian Astronomical Observatory in Sydney before moving to UNSW in 2014.
